Just a simple illustration this week for
The Line It Is Drawn as I attempted to familiarize myself with the SketchBookExpress app I've had on my computer since 2009, but failed to really play around with until now.
I love the pen and pencil tools. They mimic the look and feel of traditional tools more than Photoshop and Manga Studio do, but SBX messed me up at one point when it automatically merged my layers after a "Revert." I guess the more user-friendly stuff is for the Pro owners/users or whatever.
So I guess it's a thumbs up from me for SketchBook Pro then?
For now, I'll probably use SBX to rough out drawings for some of my illos to inject energy in concepts, but use Manga Studio for more precision and polish. And I still don't know how SBX handles color separations, so Photoshop still remains my preferred coloring app.
Peace.
Peace.
Peace.
Peace.
I don't know who the purple kid is, but he is excellent.
I've yet to find that one program that fits all my needs, just got to keep looking I guess!
As Eric mentioned, the purple kid is Artie and I grew a soft spot for him after I saw how my first attempt at drawing him up above turned out! haha Delightful and unexpected surprise.
Thought it'd be cool to have a mute member included in this ragtag team of misfit GLEE club members.
Yeah, I think we comic book digital guys are doomed to having to deal with 2-3 separate apps from start to finish for now.
Peace.
